Leading up to Brittany and Michael’s wedding, we were all a bit concerned about the weather. We have had some crazy rain this summer in Cincinnati and that week was no exception. It had been pouring for days and the prediction for that day looked pretty bleak as well. But when we got to the Hotel Covington that morning and walked into the girl’s room, it was impossible to think about how gloomy it was outside.
The room was overflowing with love and excitement and it was contagious. Hair and makeup was being finished up on the bridesmaids and Brittany was glowing, even before beginning hers. As we began shooting in the room, it was easy to see that not a single person was bothered by the weather, or they were letting on that they were!
By the time Brittany was nearly ready, sunlight was flooding the room. The blue skies were visible through the massive windows and the energy in the room had jumped to a whole new level because of it. Everyone stepped out of the room to give Brittany and her mother a moment alone and for Brittany to get into her dress. A few deep breaths were had, and she was ready for their first look!
Meanwhile, in Michael’s room, there was a lot of music, food and PERHAPS just a few beers. Although I’m sure that the nerves were there, Michael was all smiles and greeted us with a hug as we arrived. All he had left to do was to throw on his jacket, get help putting on his cuff links, and he was ready for his first look with Brittany.
The rest of the day went off without a hitch! They had their first look in a nearby river view park and decided to read their vows to each other before the ceremony. From there, we moved onto Ault park and by that time it was sunny and HOT. You would have never guessed that it had been raining just hours before.
The ceremony was beautiful, and the reception was definitely one to remember. This was a lively crowd that wasn’t afraid to get down on the dance floor. Michael, being a DJ himself, clearly had to go up and take over for a few songs. This only got everyone up and dancing even more than they already were.
We feel so grateful that we were able to be with our friends, Brittany and Michael, on their special day. We know that it is a day that they will never forget and that their wedding film will only help them cherish it all the more.
